wanting to get into synths

The last several years i’ve loved watching videos about different synthesizers. And I really want to buy one but don’t know where to begin. I don’t own a computer or any type of equipment, so is it stupid of me to buy a synth first? The only thing I own musically is a pocket operator by Teenage Engineering. My favorite thing about it is messing with the sounds themselves and the filters/effects. I’m not sure I want to become a musician and write songs. I mainly just like making weird sounds and utter chaos really.
