Confused on how I would make a rack for just making a beat.

Hey, new to reddit, this board and decently new to modular synthesis. I understand the basics of the different module types to build a synth voice. One issue is that I have an idea to have something like a 3U skiff rack (like a Roland SYR-E84) with a contained beat maker inside. I really enjoy the 808 sounds and would probably just start with Kick, Snare and Hats. I'm a very rhythm focused person and would like a beat to go off of when I eventually build a typical modular synth. I want it to be self contained because I have many other musical friends and would like to jam with them using it.

What types of modules would I need? Suggestions for modules?

Sorry for long post, general lack of knowledge, possibly confusing phrasing and anything else.
