I've watched the GDC talk multiple times over the years, and always been blown away by the process Mick Gordon goes through to create these sounds from a simple sine wave. Link here

I'm finally considering going down a rabbit hole and seeing how close (if at all) i can attempt to replicate that sound. I wanted to ask if anyone else has had a go, found any ensembles/instruments to use as a starting point, or even able to give some tips for me going into it?

The music i write in the past is the typical Metal/Bass/Drum dominated metal music, and i really want to get a bit more experimental with electronic music. Mick's work has always been inspirational for me; I've just never felt i have the understanding of synthesizers to even begin to attempt exploring it as an amateur!

submitted by /u/Pandy0604
[link] [comments]
