Four months of DIY kits- now help me get back on track

Hi,

I got in to Eurorack DIY kits in this 3rd London lockdown; I've loved every minute of it but have been somewhat limited by what's in stock at Thonk and a growing desire to just get a kit I think I'd like so I have a soldering project. It's now time to focus and work out what I actually need to get the desired sounds out of a new voice.

Before modular my setup consisted of MS20, x0xb0x, 0-Coast, few Eventide pedals.
Rack so far went through two stages- the first was passive units, and then sequencing/random. I've had a lot of fun using the x0x0box gate out to trigger Turing, quantised with the Robaux and then in to 0-Coast.

What I want is a new voice made up preferably from DIY units that Thonk stock. I am drawn to lovely thick warm synth sounds. As harsh as the MS20 filter and whacky as the 0-Coast are, I keep heading back to the Tal Juno vst for that richness. Musical references are peak-time Jane Fitz DJ sets, Wata Igarashi, Voiski- lovely arps and floaty synths. So far I have found and am on the waitlist for some of the following;

Voice- Frequency Central product (not sure it's for me though). Tonestar 8106 or 2600 although not DIY.
Or...
Osc- Erica Polivoks VCO II, Plaits from Amazing Synth (although many parts not in stock).
Filter- Serge VCFQ, Ripples from Amazing Synth (although many parts not in stock).
Envelope-

Any help/thoughts/opinions much appreciated.
Stay safe

submitted by /u/nj2406
[link] [comments]
