MIDI to USB Question

Using a MIDI to USB cable I will be able to use a DAW, and from the DAW I can play virtual sounds (let's say pianoteq), and do recordings with almost no audio interference and very high quality, correct?<br/> b. When an audio interface with MIDI is beneficial to use?
