Clock divider vs clock multiplier

<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Asking a noob question after searching all over the web for modules as I build my system, which currently consists of all the basic components to build a 3-osc Moog-style mono synth voice. Say I’m interested in producing techno type music on my modular system. I am musically trained so my natural instinct is to set a clock module to 120-140 bmp (4/4) time so I need a clock multiplier with a 2x output to get 8th notes and a 4x output to get 16th notes. </p> <p>Based on what I’m seeing in the widely available modules, clock dividers are much more prevalent than multipliers. Why is this?
