Synth newbie here. I have a Korg Minilogue xd I'm starting to get comfortable with, as well as a volca beats. I've got them synced via tempo, so i'll program a beat into the volca and some kind of sequence into the minilogue and I've been happy with the results. i'd like to string together longer sequences though, and I only have 16 steps on each unit.

Sometimes I want to change to a completely different pattern, but other times all I really want to do is use the same basic pattern but move it up a harmonized fourth. I'm not sure how to do that. I suppose I could just record it all to a DAW and be done with it, but I'm wondering how other people compose longer sequences, to play over or write songs.

submitted by /u/scelerat
[link] [comments]
