<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>i’m pretty dang stumped, hoping someone here can help. in my home studio i have 2 Casio CZ-1’s. one is mine, one is a pal’s. both exhibit the same weird(?) behavior i can’t suss out. </p> <p>my understanding is that the CZ-1/3000/5000 have 16 note polyphony in single ‘osc’ mode. basically, you should be able to hold down 16 keys at once as long as the patch isn’t using both line 1 + 2 together right? well, both of the cz1’s in my studio only have 8 note poly in single dco mode. play more notes than 8? nothin’ happens, not even note stealing. </p> <p>a person might think it’s got the equiv of dead voices then, BUT when you use both lines/oscillators together, it STILL has 8 note polyphony- which to my understanding is normal.. and would suggest that all of the DCO’s are functional. </p> <p>i always thought the cz in the studio was dysfunctional but now there’s 2 of em in here both exhibiting the same behavior, so i’m wondering if I’M the problem. like what are the odds 2 synths would have the same screwy issue.. can someone help/explain??</p> <p>the manual literally states the synth should have 16 note polyphony!</p> </div><!-- SC_ON --> submitted by <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/CaptionAndTenEels"> /u/CaptionAndTenEels </a> <br/> <span><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/comments/vaco7p/casio_cz1_help/">[link]</a></span> <span><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/comments/vaco7p/casio_cz1_help/">[comments]</a></span>
