Am I dumb for getting a Prophet 6 if I'm not a big enough musician to write it off?

I currently have a Micromonsta2 so I wanted to get a synth that has good raw sounds and isn't overloaded with features and effects.

My first look was the Udo Super 6. However good the sound packs I found were, I found very few sounds that would belong in the style of music I am doing and there was a lot that would be easier for me to do in Massive X or Serum.

I wouldn't have felt guilty with 4400CAD after tax for the UDO but the P6 was 5400 after tax.

The thing is I have used it for 6-8 hours everyday, and it is really easy to fit beside guitar and other sounds.

I get in my head and wonder if I lost my damn mind spending that much. I find good songs from a year ago when I had no equipment to justify that I don't need any, but every day that passes I make something better and better with this.

I also think - oh I could have gotten a Hydrocosm, Prologue, Neuman Speakers - but this isn't even stuff I want. I have been really conservative with buying equipment and still have the same KRK speakers as 7 years ago.

TLDR - Trying to justify my first big purchase and stop waking up feeling uncertain lol

submitted by /u/tooktime
[link] [comments]
