I acquired a mini freak recently and really love it, its an ideal synth for me as a relative beginner to the world of hardware. One thing I love about it is Minifreak V. With this the mini freak hard becomes almost a controller for the software version of mini freak. I absolutely love this workflow for so many reasons:

it has all the hands on knob twiddling of hardware

but the full flexibility of software, and it can record as midi

And I can put it away and not have to faff about with audio cables and audio interface stuff

Audio wise I couldn't tell you it was different from the real thing

Are there any other synths / controller setups out there that offer such an integrated and hands on experience?

submitted by /u/ldf1111
[link] [comments]
