My friend keeps telling me he absolutely dislikes the DM12 because it sounds digital and he thinks he's hearing dithering. He says it sounds like a VST and I should definitely not buy it. He had a job at a music store and was able to test anything he wanted and I often trust his experience. I've been eyeing it for a while because I like the built-in effects unit and the Juno characteristics. I have not been able to test it myself.

On the other hand there's the Minilogue XD which costs less but is also a solid poly synth. I appreciate the smaller size and the ability to load in a supersaw-ish sound. I don't know much about it, but I thought the people here would love sharing their opinions.

I understand it's a matter of personal preference, but which synth would you consider better at this price point?

Cheers!

submitted by /u/ramonstr
[link] [comments]
