Cable noob, does USB Type B send audio and MIDI, or just MIDI

Hi! I am looking to buy the Yamaha Motif Rack Tone Generator to use in production, this one synth is currently on the top of my want list
The Yamaha Motif has a USB type B port right right next to the MIDI ports on the back

I am just wondering, what information exactly is sent thru the USB type B port?
Is it only ever used as an alternative MIDI in? I gotta buy another set of stereo cables for it right?
Or, do I get the bonus of it transmitting audio as well (like, another audio input device shows up on my Mac as well after plugging it in)
