Question About "Using What You Got": Novation Ultranova

Still love this synth, was wondering, what possibilities could I do with this unit?

I ask because I just use a MIDI keyboard connected to a Linux desktop computer running Ardour.

Was debating if this could be sequenced for loops, etc, but am wondering what you guys do with old synths? Do you guys buy sequencers for them, or incorporate them into your MIDI setup?
