MC-707 & Launchpad Pro MK3 users. How much can this combo do?

I haven't purchased the LPP MK3 yet as I'm wondering if it can switch in and out of custom mode during a live performance quickly.

The LPP caught my attention on a YouTube video where a guy was using a custom map as a clip / scene launcher which is cool but I'm wondering if during a performance I can quickly switch out of clip control to scale / chord mode and change the MIDI channel on the LPP according to what track I want to improv on?

It seems the perfect companion to the 707 but would like some real world testimonials before I drop the cash.
