Trouble with DIN sync

Anybody know whether a JSQ-60 can sync to a TR-707? The JSQ only sends sync out, meaning I have to use the 707 as a slave, which I'm okay with. However, I have the sync out of the JSQ going into the 707, which is definitely in sync mode, and yet it will not start/stop whatsoever.
