Some modules, say, VCOs or VCAs, are sometimes described as "discrete". I assume their descriptions correspond to the electronic nomenclature, i.e. they are built from discrete components, single transistors instead of opamps and other chips. Take, for example, such a module as Xaoc Devices Tallin - a "dual discrete core amplifier".
Could this mean that their technical parameters were sacrified for marketing/audiophilism of some kind? Don't get me wrong, I have no particular suspicions about specific modules, I only have bad experiences from the audio segment, where there's a lot of voodoo, snake oil etc.
