Moog EP-2 (expression pedal) troubleshooting

Well, I'm not sure how to properly diagnose what's wrong with my little buddy, but when plugged into, say, an EarthQuaker Devices Rainbow Machine, an audible clacking noise can be heard through my amp. There are two clacks a second. I use my pedalboard with my synths and guitars, for what it's worth. What should I be looking for when I open this thing up? Cheers, folks.
