Thoughts on Plankton Spice desktop unit?

I'm a big fan of sending my modular signal to desktop gear for processing and effects, and am a bit of a distortion/saturation junkie. Does anyone have any experience or insight into the Plankton Spice unit?

I'd be using it both live and in the studio, so im interested in it's 'feel' as well as tone. For those who have it. do you have it set-and-forget as a processing unit, or do you patch n tweak?
