Roland XV3080? Is it worth the trade?

I'm in a situation to trade a squire classic vibe telecaster 70s custom with tweed case for a XV3080. I bought the guitar for $350 Canadian, and while I like it I find I'm more of a Gibson man.

The question is this; is the XV3080 a good synth, is it purely a rompler or can patches be created along the lines of a DX7? Would YOU pay roughly that much ($350) for one, would it make a good addition to my ARP odyssey, behringer model d, and yamaha qx5 sequencer?

Music wise I am looking to make more ambient stuff, some kinda experimental nonsense, a lot of accompaniment to heavy guitar stuff yadda yadda yadda.

Is it a FUN synth?
