Arturia demo download

I wanted to check out theArturia collection of synths and try out a few before committing. I did the required download and was just given by them an onscreen piano keyboard to use with the synths, and sadly could not see any way of using my X-Keys devicein conjunction, (I am a numpty with this sort of stuff).

Was I missing something obvious that needs doing? The demo facility last barely 30 mins, and I thought what the F???. When you try out Reason you get it for 30days. Surely I have missed something in the way I was using and had set up the demo version. Any one able to advise here?

Also, is it best to have their key board to use if I choose to buy?

Thanks to all you clever guys who may offer some help here.
