Setting up ableton, tascam model 12 and beatstep pro.

I’ve just watched a video on how to do it, it’s al exactly how it should be, but it’s not working.

Ableton live gets audio from the tascam. That works.

The sliders don’t move ableton when I move them. Neither does ableton trigger start / stop on the beatstep pro and my other gear.

I’ve got midi out going out of the tascam into in on the beatstep. All midi out is set to on on ableton.

No clue what why it’s not working. Have tried tascam in daw mode ans without to see if that changes anything with the midi stop / start.
