Arturia Microbrute question

I may be trading an older, lesser played guitar in my collection for said synth, I’m new to the instrument and genre in general. My question is, Is this a good synth for psychedelic/trippy/experimental tones? Or are they like basses and guitars, where you can get pretty much any tone or sound you want from them?
