Hi synth lovers! I want to expand my setup a bit, but I'm not too sure about how i'll mix the audio back together, and I thought you'd have lots of great opinions Here is my kit as it currently stands: I've been learning on a M3 for the last 2 years, and ordered the MicroFreak and Volca Drum this season. The M3 has 2 line-ins easily routed to separate effect tracks, so I've been using it to add reverb/delay to the dry MF output, mix in the drum from the 2nd line-in, outputting a single final mix. That is the basic kit, the an old Korg C-3500 being used as controller to the M3. The computer is not part of a DAW either, but is only there to play youtube synesthesia tutorials, since i enjoy instruments to get away from fiddling with a screen Now, I've been intending to expand it a bit. To the M3-Microfreak-Drum trio, I'd add an NTS-1 for a simple second synth, and a Beatstep Pro that would now control MF, VD and NTS-1. Now the question that I really have no idea about is how I'll repatriate all of that - the cheap trick I was using with the M3's dual line-ins won't work anymore. I'm not sure about what I need, whether it would be a mixer or some kind of audio interface. I also have 2 usb/XLR mics lying around (Samson Q2Us) which I wouldn't mind integrating in an eventual setup, but that is not a primary criteria for expansion right now/it might have to be yet another link in the chain later on. So that is where I am right now. This setup works pretty seamlessly for a beginner like me, but I can see how this will get exponentially more complex, and I'm sure you can see a dozen different pathways I'm not even aware of. What do you think? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
