A question for mc-303 owners?

Do you have to stop the sequencer in order to record an additional instrument/sound?

So for example

Record pad

Then strings

Then mute/unmute

Without stopping the sequencer/loop playback?

Do I have to stop the seq to use mute buttons?

Is this rehearsal mode?
