Synths and Effects Pedals

I have the EarthQuaker Pyramids and Strymon BigSky, which I use with most of my synths, in particular the Behringer Poly D. They sound fantastic together! The Poly D sounds so cool with BigSky reverb effects. My musician friends say I really need a delay pedal as well. Would there be any significant advantage in having a delay pedal? As the BigSky produces echoey delay type effects, the question is: do I really need a delay pedal as well? Will it add that much to the mix?
