Morphogenetic Help

So I have had my Morphagene for about a week and I am trying to do some simple overdubbing. What I am finding is that I play something into the mg (with sos fully ccw) and then it’s in there, looping away. Then, with sos at just past noon I start playing in something else after hitting record. This results in the original loop and anything recording in a looping fading away after each pass. I am also not able to do time lag accumulation (things just fade away very quickly). Playback speed is at normal 1:1. Is this normal? It can’t be based on all the tutorials I’ve seen in which people are just overdubbing at will like a normal looper. Thanks!
