How different is the Minilogue XD from the original?

I have one coming next week, but I keep seeing people getting sentimental over the OG and wondering if I'd made the wrong choice.... How different are that two? And I see Marc Doty has a great series in the OG, would it also benefit someone with the XD? Thanks!
