How does Deluge stand up as a synthesizer?

I’m looking to replace a synth I just sold with something more versatile & I’m torn between a Medusa and a Deluge. I’m seeing some conflicting opinions regarding Deluge’s capabilities as a synth/sound design tool so I thought I’d ask here.

There is some crossover functionality between the two in almost all of the areas that are important to me but Medusa seems to produce richer sounds & is just generally a better sound design tool. Is this true?

I’m usually more decisive than this but these two have me split right down the middle.

Any insight from owners of both or either?
