Software Controlled Patchbay?

I woke from a dream where I could gig with a modular rig and store a different patch for every song without having to swap any cables. Maybe there was also some built in CV output so I don't need to turn any knobs.

I did a little research to see what exists. There's a company called Flock that is making analog patch bays which connect to a laptop via USB, allowing the user to configure the patching logic with software while maintaining full analog routing. These are cool, but they are for studio patchbays and seem like overkill for Eurorack (they cost mucho dinero).

Does anything like this exist in eurorack? Is this idea just blasphemy? Should I just ditch modular and get a modern polyphonic synth workstation?
