start with a single effects module?

I’m trying to dip my toes into modular as slowly as possible…. interested in adding effects to my desktop synth (peak) as well as a guitar. watched some mimeophon videos and think that would be a suitable starting point for exploration…. Is all I really need (other than the case + power) an input module (ears?), the effects module (mimeophon) and the output module (xoh?)

any alternatives for I/O are welcome too…. my research seems to suggest ears is a popular way to get guitar input into Eurorack… output I kind of just randomly picked xoh
