Daisy chain or direct to USB

Hey folks,

I have a Behringer TD-03 and a Deepmind 12D.

Both can go direct to PC via USB. Is it preferable to do that and just control them with Ableton or is there any advantage to daisy-chaining them with MIDI cables? I would imagine going direct through USB would be best since they could be controlled independently and likely also assigned to the same MIDI out if I wanted to control them simultaneously.
