Chaining synths

I'm running a midi chain of synths but i've added a couple (RD-6 and Volca Keys) that have 3.5mm Sync In/Out. Is it possible to control/sequence the whole chain while alternating between Midi and Sync In/Out?

By that I mean going from Sequencer --midi out--> RD-6 --sync out--> Volca Keys --sync out--> SH-01a* --midi out--> Bass Station 2.

*SH-01a has Ext Clock In.

Since the SH-01a would take the synchronisation type back to Midi for the BS2, would the BS2 still be able to be controlled by the sequencer? Would the Sync In units (Volca Keys and SH-01a) even be able to be sequenced if the channels were set right?

Really hoping I don't need to buy a Thru box and more Midi cables...
