Korg OpSix as Carry-on? (WestJet, USA to Canada)

Hi all; so this latest Korg OpSix vignette features me now visiting family in the states and trying to repatriate my new OpSix home to Canada.

The box it comes in is a few inches longer than the standard carryon dimensions, but I do not want to check it with luggage.

I know FAA guidelines make exemptions for musical instruments, as does WestJet, but I don’t want to get to my flight and find out that they won’t let me take it in the cabin.

Should I just ship it USPS and wait out the next one or two weeks? Or chance the boarding process and hope no one calls me on it?
