Boss dr-660 or SP404?

Hi I am in search of drum machine / sampler to make dirty lo-fi (just shitty, not lofi hiphop) beats. I found some great videos about hardware phonk producing and old-school Memphis beats, which show DR-660 as a main tool for that sound. I am super hyped about that drum machine, but also thinking about buying sp404 and filling it with 660 samples (660 is sample based). Would it be the same considering sound, workflow etc? I like 660 due to it's historic value, but sp404 seems more complex and powerful.
