Swapping an Argon8x for a Hydrasynth?

I'm considering returning the Argon8X in favor of a Hydrasynth, but I don't know if I'll be left feeling the same way or not.

After playing with a Modal Argon 8X and a Hydrasynth, I went ahead and ordered the Argon. It came a couple of days ago (I was unhappy off the bat because it was clearly B stock, but was sold as new. I've already contacted the vendor about this). I spect a couple of days with the Argon. It's nice. The keyboard feels really nice. The sequencer with 4 animation lanes is pretty cool. But it just feels to be lacking something that I can't put my finger on. The sounds are nice. There's very well crafted patches. I've made a couple of nice patches. The workflow isn't intuitive (and seems to be designed for lefties. If so, congratulations lefties, you deserve equipment tuned to you! But the amount of arm crossing I'm doing is annoying). Overall, it's nice. Not amazing, just nice.

I can deal with annoying workflows. But I'm still trying to figure out what's missing. Is it the digital vs analog thing? I have a Bassstation II. I can get some really great sounds out of it. There's a spark there that the Argon, with all of its extra controllability and features, doesn't seem to have.

So now I wonder - with the Hydrasynth being digital as well, is it still going to be missing that spark?
