I finally decided to push fire on an ES-9 after much debate on the audio interfaces/modules/usb capable mixers, mainly for the purpose of live multitracking all my jam sessions in the hope of being able to cut them up/edit them into more nightclub friendly songs post fact. What drew me to the ES-9 over a dedicated mixer was the expansion possibilities, and the open ended-nature of it. Being able to configure a number of channels for DC, AC, subgroups etc. gives many creative routing options. Wigglers of reddit, what are some unobvious use cases?
P.S. I have been reading the manual and i believe it should be possible, but could someone with hands on experience confirm. I can send all audio tracks into the DAW via ES-9 and apply some DSP, then back out of an output via a subgroup into the external in of an octatrack, and then the main outs of the octatrack back into the ES-9 on its own group? So the audience only hears the live looped master output of the octa, but i can still record all the tracks individually for later
