Do I need an output module?

So far my modular has been centered on modulation and sequencing of my semimodulars, and when I've generated sound in a module I've always had an (mono) input on one of the synths to route it through. I'm contemplating a couple modules now though that can output in stereo (QPAS, Disting) so that wouldn't work.

Do I need an output module to route things through before it goes into my mixer (an Allen & Heath Zedi-10FX, fwiw) or can I just use a pair of 3.5mm->1/4" cables?

If I need an output module, what's cheap and good?
