circuit vs. modelConfusedampes

I'm wanting to get something to be able to set up grooves to play against. The two things that jump out are the Circuit and the Model:Samples. It seems like the Circuit has an advantage in having the two synths in addition to the sample player, while M:S has greater facility with samples. For both of them, what appeals to me is the immediacy of them. There's no menu diving or real programming (unlike Digitakt, for instance)

It seems like another possibility would be the Beat Step Pro, which I could use to control my Proteus Romplers, which have a variety of drum kits along with numerous sounds for bass, harmony, and leads. The Circuit and M:S have an advantage in that I travel a lot and either of these would be easy to take along.

Are there other devices to consider?
