Is it me or the equipment?

My current setup is not the best for recording. I am having my Line Out from the synth going in to the mic on the back of the PC, and my Midi Over USB into FL Studio. Currently, even when using Asio4AllV2, (FL studio) there is still a large noise floor and a 10+ MS delay. It seems that whenever I play along to a backing track or whatever, that when I go to record it, it all sounds slightly out of time and not quite as good. Is it just me, or is it the fact that I don't have an audio interface?
