Connect analog sync to iPad drum machine

I’d like to connect my analog synth to my iPad so I can run the garage band drum sequencer in sync with the synth. After a bit of digging it looks like I can use a Bluetooth midi in the synth and connect both into a mixer using 3.5mm to RCA for the iPad output.

Is this a feasible setup? Better alternatives?
