Hi guys. Been lurking here for a while, but now, as Christmas is coming up I am thinking of taking a plunge in the world of Euroracks, because I am a dumb person with no regards to his financial state.
I currently have a Mother 32, and alongise a case, I will have budget for 1-2 modules. (Roughly 600GBP, half of which will be for the case)
I seem to like the Dixie II+ and MI Plaits for now, and the other is going to be a utility module, looking at the Doepfer A141 (Has VCA and ADSR, so I think would be ideal for more controll). Ultimately I'd go for a mixing module in the slight future, and some extra filters.
Essentially I am looking to have a few things to work with at the beginning:
Sine waves and FM are my main selling points. I want to use the raw waves of the Mother with some sines and create some stranger FM Basslines and sustained notes as well. I feel plaits would be great for this, but as I am a complete noob. I believe that you can find out if you need a piece of kit after, just after you have it and play around with it.
Also, I am a fan of the sequenced blips-and-blops that you get as standard when doing modular, but I'd like to create a set-up that generates slightly more textured and human sounds.
I am also thinking of getting a Maths an MI Element in the future as well.
I am here to ask for people's experience and guidance. Maybe someone was in my situation a while back ? Please share.
Much love and thanks for reading my dumb-ass, uninformed posts
