MIDI master for clock but no other midi messages?

Hi sorry still a noob but I'm kinda driving myself crazy trying to keep things in time.

When I use devices as the master I have trouble with errant MIDI messages that aren't just clock being sent out and devices getting start/stop and note data.

I just want everything to play in time.

My current kit: 2 keysteps, one controlling a Novation Circuit, the other controlling a vocoder, Volca Kick, a RC-202. I also sometimes throw my iPad in there.
