creating the bouncing ball patch

I saw a post recently showing the bouncing ball patch using Maths. I'm wondering how this could be replicated without Maths. Even just figuring out how to create a rapidly increasing gate retrigger would be useful. The timbre/damping/volume changes are easy to recreate.

I have a hydrasynth, rings and elements.

Any suggestions appreciated.
